Raised by two parents who were writers and journalists she attended University achieving her BA (World Religions) and her MA (World Religions focusing on Eastern Traditions from a Historical Perspective/minor in Ethics) at Florida State University and finishing her second MA (Humanities with a lot of focus on Women's Studies) in from University of West Florida. She taught at both Florida State and Pensacola Junior college where she found that most kids coming out of high school could barely put a paragraph together. This inspired her to try and help teach grammar and creative writing.
Happily married and living in the mountains with her husband and 2 standard poodles who she freely admits spoiling completely and two cats. Katherine is a huge animal lover and loves the energy of taking care of the family pets (all of whom were rescues) and spending a lot of time gardening and growing things.
Katherine is also a student of Yoga for 24 years now as an initiate into Himalayan Tradition through yoga master Swami Rama and also has had close ties to the teaching of Ram Dass since the early age of 17. Katherine has taught Hatha yoga and meditation. Brought up as a child in the Anglican faith she is also influenced by this tradition and finds no conflict between the two. She is an avid reader and a gluten-free vegan for over two years now. She loves to travel and has been fortunate to be able to do quite a bit of it, particularly an amazing trip to India for a month in 1997. Right now along with writing Katherine is also studying Reiki.
